About Tara Talabi

Tara Talabi is who I am. A Christian, British Nigerian – Brigerian woman, mother of 2 young adults, married at 27 and widowed by the age of 33.

I have essentially for the most part, spent my adult life looking out for my children, making sure they had all they needed regardless of the fact that they didn’t have a dad. They are grown up now and do not need me as much, and I feel now, it is time for me to spread my wings and soar. For this reason, I started by writing my memoirs called, Joy Comes In the Morning., published in September 2022.

In my head and in my heart, I am first and foremost a Christian and this tends to influence my likes and dislikes and the way I view the world in general. For instance, I love to watch movies, but they must be what I consider clean. I cringe at excessive swearing, killing, sexual content, racism, paranormal/horror and general wickedness. I’m more comfortable with films rated 12 and sometimes 15 and certainly not 18, you may call me boring, I’m okay with that. The same with what I read, probably more so with what I read, as reading accesses the soul very easily. I love most forms of Christian fiction, period dramas as well as modern day romance, family mysteries and biographies of interesting people.

I have worked full time as an administrator in Primary Education for over 20years. I am the CEO of a charity called The Widows Walk and also sit on the board or Trustees of a couple of other charities.

My mantra for living is coined from the book of Matthew:

I believe in family and relationships. A few good friends that will stick closer than a brother is essential in one’s life’s journey. People you can be real with and confide in, that will have your back and you will be the same for them. They will lift you up when the tide comes in and help you to stay afloat. These are the people that will help you get to your destination in life. I have been blessed with these kind of people and I am grateful.
…let your yea be yea and your nay be nay…. This just means that Honesty, Integrity and Efficiency is what I strive for always.
